Job Description
Lockheed Martin’s Rotary and Mission Systems’ C4ISR team is seeking an experienced UX/UI design engineer to lead the CommandIQ Product Line’s User Interface. The role owns and drives the overall UI strategy, design, and implementation to deliver an intuitive, secure, and mission‑focused experience across desktop, mobile, and embedded platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining the UX vision, design language, and UI architecture for CommandIQ and ensuring alignment with program requirements and Lockheed Martin brand standards.
- Conducting user research—stakeholder interviews, usability testing, heuristic evaluations—and translating findings into actionable design improvements.
- Creating high‑fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and style guides using internal and external human‑factors experts.
- Governance of design systems, component libraries, and accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1, Section 508).
- Managing UI documentation, design specifications, and handoff artifacts for implementation.
- Overseeing subcontractor management of UX consultants and coordinating customer demonstrations and feedback cycles.
- Collaborating closely with systems engineers, software developers, cybersecurity specialists, and product managers to ensure concepts are feasible, secure, and performant.

- Experience conducting UCD and Human Factors Engineering activities in classified environments.
- Certifications such as Certified Usability Analyst (CUA), UXPA Certified Professional, or Human Factors International (HFI) certification.
- Strong storytelling, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Master’s degree in Human Factors Engineering, User Experience, or a related discipline.
