Position Department: Information Technology Position Type: Staff Full-Time

Overview

This position is responsible for coordinating and delivering live productions for Athletics and other campus events. This includes gathering requirements, developing an event plan, setting up the appropriate audio and video equipment, executing the event plan, and striking the appropriate equipment. This position reports to the Manager of Event Technology for assistance with equipment planning, setup and teardown. The position requires a flexible schedule, with the majority of events occurring on evenings and weekends, and is responsible for assisting with the recruiting and training of student and part-time employees for events and has overall responsibility for the success of the events they are responsible for.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and execute video and audio productions for athletic and university events.
  • Integrate RMU infrastructure with streaming, social media, broadcast, and radio modes for effective and professional results.
  • Determine placement of equipment.
  • Test with media partners.
  • Ensure capture and transmission runs smoothly.
  • Assist the help desk and IT Department with other projects.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • On occasion may need to drive on behalf of the University.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree or in-progress degree in Media and Communication, Information Technology, or related field is required.
  • Experience in TV broadcasting and event production.
  • Experience with computer and software support repair and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of signal flow and communication systems, cabling, and devices.
  • Ability to understand, set up, and support production equipment for events.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems without discretion, complete tasks on time, and handle multiple priorities.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, be on call, and work in a team environment to support other IT department projects.
  • Valid driver's license or ability to have reliable transportation to travel on behalf of the university is required.
