Position Summary
At Walmart Connect, we connect brands to Walmart’s 150 million weekly shoppers through meaningful, measurable media experiences. We’re redefining retail media by helping advertisers reach customers where it matters most—across digital, social, and in‑store environments. As Walmart’s closed‑loop media business, our mission is to help brands grow while enhancing the shopping experience for customers. This role focuses on strategic, creative, and insight‑driven brand storytelling, defining and evolving Walmart Connect’s external brand presence across digital, experiential, and owned and paid touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and guide Walmart Connect’s brand positioning and expression, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity alignment across all touchpoints.
- Oversee the strategic direction and storytelling for WalmartConnect.com, ensuring the site reflects and strengthens Walmart Connect’s brand narrative.
- Define brand strategy for key industry events such as CES, Cannes Lions, ANA Masters of Marketing, and build frameworks and talking points to showcase Walmart Connect’s leadership.
- Partner with Insights and Analytics to define and track brand health metrics—including awareness, favorability, and perception—and lead brand equity measurement strategies.
- Champion new storytelling formats (video, visual, experiential) and collaborate with internal and external partners to produce high‑quality, insight‑driven creative assets.
- Develop and manage strategic brand partnerships and co‑marketing opportunities, working closely with agency and vendor partners and ensuring compliance with brand guidelines.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Skilled communicator and storyteller with the ability to craft clear, compelling narratives and translate strategy into effective messaging across formats.
- Strong understanding of brand strategy, positioning, and integrated marketing.
- Knowledge of the digital media industry, advertising ecosystem, and familiarity with retail media, commerce media, and competitive trends.
- Proficiency in design and video production—capable of directing and overseeing creative work while collaborating effectively with creative teams.
- Experience translating insights into actionable brand direction.
- Skilled at managing cross‑functional relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Data‑informed mindset with the ability to connect brand goals to measurable outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in brand strategy, marketing communications, or integrated marketing at a large organization, agency, or media/tech brand.
- Proven success developing and implementing brand strategies that drive awareness, differentiation, and engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
- Exceptional writing skills; design and video sensibility a strong plus.
- Experience managing brand perception and awareness research programs.
- Experience in retail media, digital advertising, or B2B tech.
- Familiarity with retail media measurement, ad effectiveness, and attribution models.
- Experience developing co‑marketing or partnership marketing initiatives.
