Sigil Partners
We’re looking for a Senior Technical Writer who loves digging into complex technology and turning it into clear, useful, easy-to-follow documentation. In this role, you’ll create product manuals, specs, how-to guides, and other content that helps both our internal teams and our customers understand our hardware and software. You’ll work closely with engineers, product teams, and the Lead Technical Writer to bring everything together.
What You’ll Be Doing
Creating well-organized, easy-to-understand documentation that meets our internal standards.
Learning our products inside and out so you can translate technical details into polished, user‑friendly content.
Writing content tailored to the audience — whether it’s engineers, end users, or marketing teams.
Building and maintaining reference materials like research notes, specs, and usability findings.
Reviewing what we already have and finding smarter, clearer, or more modern ways to present it.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Partnering with internal teams to understand products and what each document needs to accomplish.
Interviewing SMEs and gathering the info you need to write manuals, specs, procedures, and more.
Organizing and structuring documentation so it’s clear, complete, and easy to navigate.
Creating content in different formats (visuals, diagrams, multimedia) to make information more usable.
What You Need to Bring
Active Secret Clearance OR Ability to get a secret clearance
Ability to take highly technical concepts and explain them clearly using text, images, and diagrams.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, plus a great attention to detail.
Experience working with engineering teams to refine content, UI, design elements, or technical visuals.
Comfort juggling multiple projects at once and knowing how to prioritize.
Strong command of English writing and editing.
Solid skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat (PDF creation and bookmarking).
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a technical, writing, or related field.
3+ years of experience as a technical writer.
Bonus Skills (Not Required, But Definitely Helpful)
Background in electrical or electronic systems.
AutoCAD experience.
Experience writing Mil‑Spec documentation or IETMs.
Familiarity with Simplified Technical English.
