Strozier Library Responsibilities
The Collections Access & Stewardship Librarian provides leadership for the management, access, and long‑term stewardship of FSU Libraries’ circulating physical collections across Strozier, Dirac, the College of Engineering Library, and the Remote Storage Facility. Core responsibilities include collections management, retrieval and delivery services, storage planning, preservation practices, environmental monitoring, and coordinating large‑scale moves and shifting projects. This position supervises the Collections Access and Library Express Delivery units, including 5 full‑time staff members. Responsibilities include hiring, training, professional development, and managing OPS budgets. Reporting to the Head of Access Services & Delivery (ASD), this position serves on the departmental leadership team and collaborates closely with RMADS, Special Collections & Archives, TADS, subject librarians, Facilities, and external vendors to plan and execute withdrawal, relocation, and shared print initiatives. Within ASD, they contribute to strategic planning, goal setting, and service improvement. The Collections Access & Stewardship Librarian develops and maintains policies and workflows for retrieval, delivery, circulation, inventory, and collections stewardship, and provides on‑call support to ensure timely access to materials. They also lead ASD’s emergency preparedness and coordinate response efforts when building or weather incidents threaten library spaces or collections. As Specialized Faculty, this position engages in professional development and produces scholarship that advances library practice, contributes to shared print and stewardship initiatives, and supports FSU’s mission. Qualifications
Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA‑accredited (or equivalent) program. At least five years of progressively responsible library experience. Minimum of three years of staff supervision in a library environment. Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated success in leading and managing teams in an academic or research library, including skills in conflict resolution, problem‑solving, analysis, and decision‑making. Proven ability to guide teams through organizational change, including shifts in technologies, workflows, and priorities. Ability to participate in long‑term planning and articulate a clear, forward‑looking vision for collections access and stewardship that supports library and University goals. Experience using Alma and Primo to ensure reliable and discoverable access to library collections. Experience enhancing existing retrieval services and developing innovative access models for physical collections. Strong background in delivering and assessing high‑quality scholar and user support in a public service environment. Experience mentoring staff and supporting professional growth and development. Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and complete projects effectively. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Contact Info
