General Description Market client accounts to carrier partners. Support Commercial Lines team by providing marketing analytics, negotiating carrier coverages, and finalizing the market process.

Responsibilities

Work closely with sales executives or account managers to understand client’s Commercial Lines insurance needs.

Develop submission to carriers and obtain quotes. Respond to underwriters’ inquiries.

Negotiate terms with carriers on client’s behalf.

Educate client on terms, conditions, exclusions, exposures, rates, and premiums.

Complete the marketing process and bind coverage for clients.

Develop knowledge of niche insurance markets on behalf of USI clients. Develop relationships with carrier underwriters and representatives.

Act as technical expert on market trends, pricing practices and other underwriting policies.

Contribute to internal USI account strategy meetings.

Support account management team. Includes resolving non-renewals, rates and terms and conditions with carrier partners.

Complete internal company marketing and licensing records.

Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

5+ years experience in a Commercial Lines agency. College degree preferred.

Strong understanding of Property & Casualty insurance.

Must hold or be willing to earn Property & Casualty insurance license.

Industry designation such as ARM, CIC, CPCU preferred.

Comfortable with internet-based programs and navigating carrier marketing websites.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel.

Strong negotiation, problem solving and communication skills.

Keep informed about industry information, technology, and trends.

Additional Compensation This is a paid sick leave eligible position with 18 days per year. It is also a bonus eligible position with a target incentive of 5%.
