The Role The Commercial Director for the Cash Media Network (CMN) will lead the unit’s commercial strategy, go‑to‑market execution, and revenue growth across retail media, data partnerships, and ad‑tech integrations. This leader will own P&L targets, shape the monetization strategy, cultivate direct and agency relationships, and work closely with product, data, and operations teams to deliver scalable, high‑performance media solutions for brands and suppliers. The role requires someone with deep expertise in digital media, retail media networks, and performance‑driven advertising, along with a strong blend of strategic, operational, and leadership capabilities to drive both top‑line growth and long‑term enterprise value.

Responsibilities: Commercial Leadership & Strategy

Set and drive the CMN’s commercial vision, owning the full business plan across media, data, and commerce monetization.

Hold end‑to‑end P&L accountability, directing operations on revenue forecasting, pricing strategy, and margin expansion.

Develop and execute short‑ and long‑term growth strategies spanning first‑party data monetization, on‑and off‑site media, programmatic demand, and emerging channels.

Identify, negotiate, and operationalize strategic partnerships with agencies, brands, technology platforms, and data providers to accelerate scale and differentiation.

Lead all platform sales and demand‑side growth efforts, serving as the DRI for all client‑facing teams to drive adoption, performance, and revenue expansion.

Build, mentor, and retain a high‑performing team spanning brand partnerships, performance media, programmatic sales, and measurement.

Collaborate with B2B Marketing to develop compelling go‑to‑market narratives, vertical strategies, and materials that clearly articulate CMN’s value proposition to advertisers.

Oversee client success, campaign delivery, and performance operations to ensure campaigns meet or exceed benchmarks, driving renewal, upsell, and long‑term spend.

Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Design to ensure commercial requirements directly shape the product roadmap, inventory innovation, and platform feature development.

Leverage Block’s deep transaction, shopper, and loyalty data to build advanced segmentation, measurement, and targeting capabilities.

Ensure tight alignment between marketing science, measurement, sales enablement, and commercial strategy to unlock scalable and repeatable advertiser outcomes.

Operational Excellence

Build scalable operating models for pricing, forecasting, and KPI reporting that support rapid growth and enterprise‑grade rigor.

Implement best‑in‑class sales enablement systems—including CRM, order management, and analytics dashboards to enhance team productivity and accountability.

Drive cross‑functional alignment and governance across Finance, Marketing, Product, Legal, and Operations.

You Have

15+ years of leadership experience within digital media, retail media, or ad‑tech, ideally within commerce or audience‑data‑driven environments.

Demonstrated success owning P&Ls, scaling revenue lines, and operating within fast‑paced, high‑growth environments.

Deep expertise across the ad‑tech ecosystem—programmatic buying, CTV, identity, data clean rooms, attribution, and measurement.

Proven ability to build, lead, and inspire cross‑functional teams through growth, ambiguity, and transformation.

Exceptional executive presence with strong storytelling, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
