We are hiring a passionate and strategic marketer to shape the patient journey from their first interaction with Medtronic DTC campaigns to their interaction with their healthcare provider, ensuring a high-value and consistent patient experience that advances therapy awareness product understanding, and patient action. The Sr. Market Development Manager is responsible for increasing market penetration and achieving patient access growth goals. This role works closely with direct-to-consumer marketing, HCP marketing, field marketing, customer care, sales leaders, medical education, legal, compliance, marketing communications, and market development leaders in other business units.
This position will be in Minnesota. This is not a people manager role.
Responsibilities will include the following, and other duties may be assigned.
Develop and lead patient marketing strategies, from initial Medtronic DTC interaction through implant and post-implant care, to drive awareness, engagement, and adoption of therapies and products across the portfolio.
Create and execute effective DTC campaigns in conjunction with the patient marketing team
Monitor and report on DTC campaign effectiveness and impact, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and maximize patient access, engagement, and satisfaction
Create, plan, and execute multi-channel patient campaigns, including digital, print, and in-person initiatives.
Design, launch, and continuously optimize digital experiences for patients at both portfolio and product levels.
Lead cross-functional teams to develop efficient processes for patient navigation and management.
Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, legal, sales, and product teams to ensure patient materials are accurate, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.
Develop and manage patient education asset content, distribution, inventory, and budget
Support upstream product development by gathering patient insights and feedback on current products.
Lead the patient NPS (Net Promoter Score) program by designing and implementing NPS surveys, analyzing patient feedback to identify key trends and insights, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate findings into targeted improvements for patient materials and marketing campaigns.
Proactively establish and maintain active, collaborative relationships with customers and field sales teams by regularly traveling to customer sites and participating in field visits; gather real-time feedback and insights to ensure these perspectives are effectively integrated into the development and refinement of patient materials.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in sales and/or marketing experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years
Nice to Have
Minimum of 2 years patient / consumer marketing experience
MBA
Experience in medical device marketing
Excellent project management skills
Strong analytical skills
Understanding of medical device regulatory and compliance guidelines
Solid experience in a large corporate environment with a complex matrix culture
Experience launching direct to consumer campaigns, or digital campaigns
Experience with agile marketing methodologies
Track record of building impactful marketing initiatives
Experience leading cross-functional teams

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$127,200.00 - $190,800.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
