About Our Client: Our client is a well-established and leading manufacturer in the aviation and marine industry, with over 60 years of proven success. Known for precision and quality, this company offers an exciting, fully on-site role where your work directly impacts innovative products used across critical industries.

Why This Role is Exciting: This is not just another design position. You’ll be at the heart of engineering operations, creating and refining mechanical layouts for metal enclosures that house electrical and electronic components. You’ll collaborate closely with talented engineers, production teams, and suppliers, contributing to products that set industry standards. Please note: architectural design experience does not translate to this role’s requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Create complex design layouts of parts and assemblies using engineering specifications, component datasheets, schematics, and BOMs.

Modify and maintain released drawings and BOMs through the internal Engineering Change Notice process.

Apply judgment on dimensioning, tolerances, material and finish selection, and manufacturing costs while ensuring sound mechanical design practices.

Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings for fabrication and assembly.

Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and suppliers to ensure successful product design.

Mentor and assist junior drafters.

Support Production with solutions to manufacturing challenges.

Experience & Skills:

3–5 years of directly related mechanical design experience.

Experience designing metal enclosures for electrical/electronic components is required.

Excellent knowledge of engineering drawing practices; familiarity with military and industry standards preferred.

Proficiency in SolidWorks; familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe software.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education & Requirements:

Associate’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.

Documented U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident status.
