Job Summary
WSAW/WZAW-TV, the Gray Media‑owned CBS and FOX affiliate in north central Wisconsin, seeks a Creative Services Director to oversee marketing and promotions, elevate community partnerships, and grow client business through commercial production and digital campaigns. The ideal candidate is a motivating creative leader with a proven track record of teaching a team and creating systems to manage multiple projects.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Creative Services Department, ensuring integrity and involvement in all creative facets.
Create an inspiring environment, celebrate creative storytelling on all platforms.
Collaborate daily with the General Manager and department heads to achieve station goals and extend brand.
Communicate consistently, providing constructive feedback and mentoring the team.
Manage all aspects of commercial production, building trust with clients and partners through the pre‑ to post‑production process.
Act as a station ambassador, representing the station at events and championing major initiatives such as Share Your Holidays and the NewsChannel 7 Diaper Drive.
Qualifications
Two years of previous team management experience preferred; proven track record of a positive work environment.
Ability to manage all aspects of content operations, including financial, technical, and human resources.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Radio/TV/Film, or related field.
Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop.
High proficiency in videography, editing, and related equipment; FAA Part 107 Drone License a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and strategic plan execution.
Strong analytical skills to process research and ratings data to inform strategies.
Demonstrated understanding of DMA, key target audiences, community issues, journalistic ethics.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and other duties as needed; ability to lift and carry 40 lbs and valid driver’s license.
