Location: Communications Division POSITION SUMMARY

The Video Production Editor is responsible for managing the post-production process for video projects, including assembling recorded raw material into a finished product suitable for broadcasting and online publishing. Coordinates closely with the Video Coordinator to ensure alignment across production efforts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Associate's degree in video production, video editing, media production, communications or related field required. Additional years of equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in video post production and editing Experience in K-12 education or public sector preferred ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Edits and assembles video content into polished, engaging formats for broadcast, web, and social platforms, including rough cuts, final edits, and optimized versions for various channels. Ensures seamless narrative flow and visual coherence through thoughtful sequencing, pacing, and transitions. Manages post-production workflows, including audio mixing, color correction, and visual effects integration. Collaborates closely with creative leads-such as directors, producers, and internal stakeholders-to align video output with strategic goals and brand standards. Maintains high production quality standards, troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring deliverables meet platform specifications and audience expectations. Supports video production tasks, including video shooting, equipment setup, lighting, and on-site coordination. Required to have prompt, regular attendance in person and be available to work on-site during regular business hours and as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator or their representative. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Understanding of established technology tools and applications used to support communications, production, and project workflows. Awareness of emerging industry trends and technological enhancements relevant to communications and production efficiency. Knowledge of creative design concepts, techniques, and tools. Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders on matters of moderate importance. Creative design skills to support the development and production of communications materials. Skill in applying technology solutions to improve individual and small-team work processes. Skill in orienting, training, and guiding team members, and serving as a lead during editing and production work. Effective problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to interact professionally with colleagues, leaders, and external parties, including the general public and higher-level officials. Ability to provide clear direction and assertive leadership during production and editorial processes. Ability to work independently and dependably, demonstrating sound judgment in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stay current with industry practices and incorporate new tools or methods to enhance project outcomes. Ability to adhere to communications standards and ensure consistency and quality throughout assigned projects.
