Design Fabrication Technician
Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a Design Fabrication Technician to join our team and contribute to innovative projects that directly enhance soldier safety, readiness, and mission success. What You'll Do Design & Fabricate: Participate in the design, development, and fabrication of parachute and shelter components. Prototype Development: Create preliminary layouts, execute design details, and fabricate prototypes using knowledge of construction techniques, production methods, and materials. Precision Repairs: Repair and modify airdrop and shelter equipment with fine seams and replacement parts that match original strength and quality. Support Innovation: Assist engineers and project managers by fabricating experimental/prototype parachutes, cargo delivery systems, shelters, tents, covers, and other soft-wall structures. Collaborate & Interpret: Work from work orders, blueprints, sketches, and verbal concepts, consulting with design draftsmen and engineers to bring ideas to life. Required Qualifications Demonstrated ability with industrial sewing machines High school diploma plus 2+ years of relevant experience Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabricate products efficiently Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Solid analytical and technical skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of personal parachute systems and assembly (civilian or military) Experience following technical manual procedures Skills in CAD and/or SolidWorks Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills Why Join Leidos?
