What Your Job Will Be Like Are you ready to craft impactful storytelling and innovative visual communications? If so, Organization 00157‑2, Creative Services, Video & Photo, is currently seeking an experienced Video Producer & Director to join their team! The selected candidate will team with specialists and coordinate with all levels of staff and management to create, modify, and track work products. They will also perform and oversee the many aspects of video production including conceptualization, subject‑matter research, script writing, location scouting, videography, lighting, music and sound effect selection, digital effect creation, final editing, duplication, and distribution.
On any given day, one may be called upon to:
Consult with staff and managers to determine requirements and advise and influence decision makers on best methods of communication.
Be responsible for developing concepts and producing effective visual communications products through exceptional customer service, strong project management, and accomplished video production skills.
Develop promotional, informational, training, marketing, and classified videos, and communication products.
Analyze communications needs, respond to customers' requirements, select the best concept, generate cost estimates, apply quality standards, and negotiate outcomes with various internal and external suppliers.
Be responsible for in‑depth planning and prioritizing of communication efforts and the production of video products.
Qualified applicants may be asked to provide a portfolio of sample video products if selected for further consideration.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range $85,100 – $164,100
Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require
A Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Media Arts, Film/TV, Communications, or a relevant field, plus five (5) or more years of related experience or working in video production; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, etc.) or DaVinci Resolve.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q‑level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire
Experience with the following:
Editing full‑scale productions with Adobe Creative software
Videography and lighting for studio and field conditions
Translating technical concepts and material into compelling and persuasive communications products
Project management; establishing and managing budgets associated with each project and determining the most practical and cost‑efficient approach, schedule, and level of quality required to accomplish communication
Applying motion graphics software to video work (e.g., Blender, Cinema 4D, etc.)
The ability to use multiple camera platforms
The ability to work in multiple file formats and integrate/output required metadata and media; tech‑savvy
The ability to conceptualize major elements of media production and related programs and policies, including the delivery of clear and concise communication to appropriate employees and managers
Excellent interpersonal, teaming, and negotiation skills
The ability to work effectively in a deadline‑sensitive environment
The ability to properly manage and protect classified information and maintain special clearances
Knowledge of Sandia's policies, practices, and procedures pertaining to media creation, audiovisual products, and classified documents and media
The ability to model behaviors that reflect Sandia's core values.
About Our Team Organization 00157 provides professional graphic design, animation, technical writing/editing, video production, audiovisual and off‑site event production, digital display and mobile application design, and printing services that contribute to the success of the Laboratories and its mission. The services provided include, but are not limited to, photography, publication design and layout, interactive multimedia presentations, exhibit design and planning, interior design, poster fabrication, graphic illustration.
