The AWS Center for Quantum Computing is a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technicians innovating in quantum computing.
We are looking to hire a Research Scientist to design and model novel superconducting quantum devices, including qubits, readout and control schemes, and advanced quantum processors. Candidates with a track record of original scientific contributions and/or software development experience will be preferred. Strong engineering principles, resourcefulness, organization, and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities
Design and model novel superconducting quantum devices, qubits, readout and control schemes, and advanced quantum processors.
Investigate feasibility of applying scientific principles to business problems and products.
Develop software and tools to support quantum device research and simulation.
Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to advance quantum computing technology.
Basic Qualifications
PhD in a quantitative field, or MS degree and 1+ years of quantitative research experience.
Experience investigating feasibility of applying scientific principles to business problems and products.
Experience with data analysis packages (R, SAS, Matlab, etc.).
Experience using SQL databases to manage and analyze large data sets.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in operations research, applied mathematics, theoretical computer science, or equivalent.
Experience applying forecasting and data mining techniques.
Additional Information Export Control Requirement: due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be either a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or be able to obtain a U.S. export license.
