Job DescriptionThe University of Missouri Libraries (MU Libraries) invites applications for the full-time, non-tenure track (NTT) Education Librarian position. The Education Librarian designs, delivers, and assesses information literacy instruction for the J. Otto Lottes Health Sciences Library user community, including the College of Health Sciences, the Sinclair School of Nursing, and the School of Medicine. This position emphasizes outreach and relationship building with faculty, students, and researchers across these units. The librarian collaborates with faculty to integrate research and information literacy skills into curricula, provides specialized assistance with evidence-based practice, and supports systematic and scoping reviews. Additionally, the librarian promotes library resources and services and develops programming to advance AI literacy and data among health sciences learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum Integration
* Collaborate with faculty in Health Sciences, Nursing and Medicine to embed information literacy and evidence-based practice concepts into courses.
* Deliver classroom instruction, online modules, and workshops tailored to health sciences education.
* Develop instructional materials, guides, and tutorials for students and faculty.
* Provide AI literacy training to support responsible and effective use of emerging technologies in academic work.
Research & Reference Services
* Offer individualized research consultations for faculty and students.
* Assist with advanced searching, bibliographic management, and evidence synthesis.
* Provide expert guidance on systematic and scoping review methodology, including protocol development, search strategy design, and documentation.
* Conduct comprehensive literature searches in databases such as PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library
* Advise on citation management and screening tools (e.g., EndNote, Covidence).
Collaboration & Outreach
* Serve as a liaison between the Health Sciences Library and academic units.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty and students to identify needs and opportunities for library support.
* Promote library services and resources through outreach and communication initiatives.
Professional Engagement
* Stay current with trends in health sciences education, systematic review standards (e.g., PRISMA), and librarianship.
* Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI and their impact on teaching, learning, and research.
* Participate in professional development and contribute to scholarly activities.
Master's degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) or from a program in a country with a formal accreditation process as identified by ALA.
Anticipated Hiring RangeSalary and librarian rank will be commensurate with experience within an expected range of $58,500-$66,000 per year. This position holds non-tenure track (NTT) faculty status.
