Role Description We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Executive Producer to lead editorial decision‑making and oversee daily newsroom operations at WKBW-TV. This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Buffalo, NY. Responsibilities include managing news coverage, coordinating with producers and reporters, guiding storytelling approaches, and ensuring the delivery of engaging, accurate, and impactful content across all platforms. The Executive Producer will also collaborate with the newsroom leadership team to develop strategies for audience engagement and enhance the station’s presence within the community.
Qualifications
Strong leadership, teamwork, and decision‑making skills to manage and guide a newsroom team.
Experience in content creation, news strategy development, and cross‑platform editorial planning.
Proficiency in writing, editing, and proofing to maintain high‑quality standards of storytelling.
Knowledge of broadcast production, newsroom operations, and television journalism best practices.
Ability to analyze audience data, market trends, and viewer engagement to drive content decisions.
Excellent organizational skills and time management to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong understanding of ethical journalism standards and integrity in news reporting.
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, with proven experience in newsroom leadership roles.
Familiarity with the Buffalo area or the willingness to immerse in the local market is a plus.
