Position Title:
Medium Voltage Design to Order Team Leader
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/ Week
Summary of Duties Coordinate the team on the tasks assigned to get them released for production on time. Schedule the tasks to balance the load on the team. Collaborate with other areas to get the orders ready as scheduled. Lead internal projects to improve processes and tools, working directly with other teams and business excellent teams. Lead training activities. Serve as a mentor and coach for developing new engineers. Provide direction as technical lead to a team of designers who will take the concepts and turn them into new or updated 3D models. Help improve our products by working collaboratively to identify design enhancements and nurturing those ideas through integration and deployment. Execute the assigned “Design to Order” tasks, which include the development of new 3D mechanical designs required for respective projects. Work with the Factory Support and Liaison team to diagnose and resolve engineering issues. Complete the assigned “Product Support” tasks based on identified non-conformances and design errors, including update and correction of existing assemblies found defective during assembly or commissioning operations. Manage the list of materials and mechanical assemblies needed to fulfill the technical requirements of the project. Create Bills of Materials, develop new assemblies, validate functionality, and release the part/assemblies to production. Provide support and feedback as needed to the Siemens MV AIS R&D team based on effectiveness of the design library and market trends where gaps in our technical offer have been identified. Hybrid work permitted.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, as a Mechanical Designer, or an acceptable alternate occupation.
Three (3) years of experience in a technical engineering role, with at least two (2) years working with medium voltage power distribution equipment.
Ability to coach and train developing engineers.
Strong communication skills and demonstrated presentation skills to diverse audiences.
Proficiency working within a 3D design environment.
Experience working with complex engineering BOMs (“Bill of Materials”).
Experience working with SAP or similar MRP/ERP systems.
