Starkey is hiring for an Instructional Designer to join our Education and Audiology Team. The Starkey Education and Audiology Department is the largest provider of online continuing education to hearing care providers in the U.S. In addition, our internal training demands are requiring a shift from live classes to more online class delivery. This position assists the content developers with the design, development, management, and delivery of the online programs. Job Responsibilities Design and develop multimedia learning materials as needed for distance and corporate education. Design and develop interactive online learning materials which may include video demonstrations, simulations, and animations to enhance learning. Provide instructional design strategies to educators and trainers who are developing content for courses. Teach content developers about methods and strategies for successful delivery of online courses to adult learners. Design educational templates and courses for teaching adult learners at a distance. Work with content developers on the design of online teaching materials and templates for adult learners. Coordinate and integrate learning materials with the Learning Management System. Assist and support content developers in the Education Department with course and content management, assessment tools that would be used in the Learning Management System and learning platform. Job Requirements Education Graduate degree in instructional design, distance education, instructional technology, instructional systems, or a closely related field. Experience Instructional computing expertise. Experience in supervising and using course/learning management systems, including open‑source systems. Experience in the private sector and medical professions desired. Knowledge / Technical Requirements Distance education for adult learners. E-learning authoring tools such as Articulate, Adobe Presenter, Camtasia, Captivate. Multimedia authoring tools such as Flash, Adobe Photoshop, DreamWeaver. Learning Management System deployment. Competencies, Skills & Abilities Competence in design and teaching of adult learners at a distance. Skills in multimedia production, including video, audio, photography, and animation. The annual salary for this position is between $56,210 and $84,000 per year. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
