We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Graphic Designer II (Hybrid) on our Marketing & Membership Experience team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.
This position is responsible for the design of enterprise‑wide marketing materials including campaign collateral, brochures, fliers, event graphics, social media graphics, PowerPoint presentations and more. The role also assists in coordinating printing, fulfillment and delivery of creative projects, including print collateral and premium imprinting.
Responsibilities
Design and execute highly creative materials that support the AMA’s overall brand strategy.
Independently produce deliverables, including campaign collateral, banners and staging, brochures, fliers, social media and PowerPoint presentations.
Ensure designs express desired ideas, represent products/services accurately, and adhere to existing brand standards.
Illustrate concepts by designing rough layouts of art and copy, considering arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (graphic designers, photographers, copywriters, account managers, business units, and production staff) to develop new approaches to creating innovative graphics that support the organization’s core initiatives.
Participate in brainstorming sessions, providing fresh, thoughtful, creative ideas to solve business problems.
Offer input during critique sessions, providing feedback on colleagues’ creative work and ideas for new work.
Stay abreast of current design trends, emerging technologies, and innovative techniques across print, web, and social media platforms, and actively seek out and incorporate new design methodologies to enhance visual communication strategies.
May include other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts required; concentration in marketing and/or advertising preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of work experience with graphic design tools.
Conceptual thinker who can develop and execute creative ideas effectively.
Experience working on team‑based projects/portfolio work (copywriters, photographers, etc.) preferred.
Ability to follow branding guidelines to ensure AMA brand identity consistency across all media.
Thorough knowledge of core Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) required; familiarity with After Effects CC and Microsoft PowerPoint desirable.
Ability to work in a changing, fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
Self‑starter comfortable working on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Detail‑oriented, versatile and creative with excellent organizational skills.
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and business units.
Salary Range: $72,706 - $96,390.
