About The Position
Photographic Audio-Visual Specialists perform work involving the development and production of a wide variety of digital video and audio-visual projects for training, informational and motivational purposes; and perform related work, as required, for digital video export, duplication, and distribution purposes. The Photographic and Audio Visual Specialist is responsible for designing and creating computer, web, video and print layout, graphics, etc. for use in presentations, video/web productions, and other relevant programs.

Selection Interview Dates
Interviews, Job Offers and Background Process begin in December 2025.
Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.

Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of professional experience in photography and/or videography. Such experience must have included still photography and video production work, experience disseminating information to the public through the development, production and presentation of audio-visual programs including the writing and editing of scripts, associated pamphlets and brochures, and the use of audio-visual equipment; OR,
An associate’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in photography, video production, telecommunications, graphic art, commercial art, or a related fine art field, AND two (2) years of experience described above; OR,
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in photography, video production, telecommunications, graphic art, commercial art or a related fine art field and one (1) year of experience described above.
Condition of Employment
As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment.
Evaluation
Qualified applicants will be placed on a six (6) months employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment and supplemental applications.
