Job Summary

Job Summary

The KSRQ Host/Producer coordinates and conducts live morning radio programming consisting of news, weather, prerecorded features, interviews, and triple-A/Americana music. The host will lead weekday broadcasts featuring a curated blend of music and community-focused content, designed to reflect and engage the station's regional audience. Responsibilities include live hosting, producing local features, and coordinating interviews with community members and event organizers. This role requires strong communication skills, editorial judgment, and a passion for community radio's mission to inform, entertain, and connect.
  • Produce and host programming on Pioneer 90.1
  • Collaborate on Daily Operations of KSRQ
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in broadcasting or related area; Master's degree may substitute for 18 months of experience; Bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of experience; Associate's degree may substitute for six months of experience
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, crouch, kneel; speak in a clear voice; hear and comprehend sounds and English-language speech; collect, transport, unload items weighing up to 20 lbs
  • Ability to maintain professional radio environment and product while balancing learning requirements of beginning broadcasters and volunteers
  • Working knowledge of radio studio equipment
  • Exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated time and project management skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness building relationships with a diverse internal and external clientele
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-year degree in Communications or related field
  • Familiarity with Americana/Triple-A music
  • Awareness of issues and happenings in NW Minnesota/NE North Dakota
