Position: You will serve as a written technical communicator for our aerospace weapon systems programs, translating engineering concepts, analyses, test results, user guides, specifications, interface control documents and system performance data into clear, accurate, and compliant documentation. Working closely with all engineering disciplines and program leadership, you will ensure that all technical deliverables meet the high standards required for customer acceptance.
Responsibilities:
Author, edit, and maintain high‑quality technical documentation including system performance reports, technical guides, requirements, user manuals, simulation and analysis summaries, test data reports (ground, lab, and flight), trade study results, and design review packages.
Collaborate with hardware, software and system engineers to gather technical content and ensure the accuracy of all inputs required for the given documentation.
Create presentation materials, briefing charts, and executive summaries as needed to support programmatic and engineering meetings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Establish and enforce documentation standards, templates, style guides, and review processes to improve consistency and quality across the engineering organization.
Support proposal and business development efforts by writing in support of technical volumes.
Support document version control, configuration management, and release processes in accordance with company and government standards.
Qualifications:
1–10 years of technical writing or communications experience in aerospace, defense, or another highly technical/engineering‑intensive field.
Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Journalism, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Proven ability to understand and accurately communicate complex technical subjects for a variety of audiences.
Mastery of clear, concise technical writing with rigorous attention to detail, consistency, and proper use of engineering terminology.
Experience interpreting engineering requirements, specifications, test data, and aerospace documentation standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810H, etc.).
Proficiency with documentation tools and environments (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint, MS Teams).
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (current clearance a plus).
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative engineering environment with engineers and program managers.
Desired Skills:
Master’s degree in Technical Communication, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
Prior experience supporting weapon systems, missile programs, or DoD contractors.
Experience with graphics/illustration tools.
