About the Role
Cybersecurity Technical Writer – you will develop, write, and manage technical and promotional content focused on Managed Detection and Response (MDR) and related security solutions. You’ll translate complex cybersecurity concepts—such as threat detection, SOC operations, AI/ML, and incident response—into clear, compelling materials that educate, engage, and convert both technical and executive audiences.
Responsibilities
Write, edit, and validate technical and promotional materials, including white papers, battle cards, product sheets, customer case studies, datasheets, and technical briefs focused on MDR.
Develop engaging content for digital platforms such as websites, social media, email campaigns, and other online communications.
Create multimedia presentations and assets—including slides, infographics, and videos—that clearly convey technical capabilities.
Ensure all content aligns with brand voice, maintains messaging consistency, and adheres to company standards.
Analyze and interpret complex cybersecurity and MDR data to produce audience‑appropriate content.
Translate technical specifications into clear, accessible language for various audience segments.
Collaborate closely with cybersecurity SMEs, SOC analysts, product managers, and sales engineers to ensure accuracy and thought leadership credibility.
Select and coordinate graphics, images, and visual elements to support and elevate marketing materials.
Maintain visual branding consistency and ensure all design elements accurately represent MDR architecture and messaging frameworks.
Maintain content calendars and ensure timely delivery of all marketing materials.
Review and update existing content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and ongoing relevance.
Measure content performance and provide data‑driven recommendations for optimization and improvement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in content marketing, technical writing, or a similar role.
Experience creating both technical and promotional content within cybersecurity, MDR, or IT security industries.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and MDR concepts (e.g., SIEM, SOC, EDR, XDR, incident response).
Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to technical accuracy.
Ability to analyze and translate technical data into clear, engaging, and audience‑appropriate content.
Proficiency in grammar, syntax, and style guidelines (e.g., AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style).
Experience with content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing platforms.
Familiarity with SEO best practices and web content optimization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in cybersecurity, managed detection and response, information technology.
Familiarity with MDR, SOC operations, and modern detection/response tools.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design software.
Knowledge of marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Marketo, etc.).
Experience with data visualization and infographic creation.
Understanding of multimedia production and video content creation.
Certification in technical writing or content marketing and strategy.
