Vice President, Earned Media Strategist to join our team. Responsibilities
Lead media relations campaigns and develop integrated earned media strategies that resonate across platforms. Collaborate with account teams—creative, planning, analytics, digital, and creator marketing—to execute earned media strategy and campaigns for clients. Create storylines and themes that reporters will view as newsworthy. Counsel executives and the C‑Suite on effective earned media strategies. Manage social and digital platforms and visual assets, including production and video storytelling. Network and build media contacts, especially within consumer/lifestyle audiences across print, digital, emerging media, and broadcast. Write and edit a range of media communications such as press releases, media alerts, pitches, briefing books, and post‑project recap reports. Effectively manage projects and budgets, delegate work, and oversee a large volume of short‑term and longer‑term assignments. Review and edit the work of junior team members and support their career development. Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of experience in earned media and media relations. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in an agency environment strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to digest and understand a wide variety of accounts—business, products, markets, personnel, and influencers—and translate into newsworthy storylines. Established relationships with reporters across a variety of verticals and media outlets, securing impactful media from top‑tier outlets. Strong client counselor with proven ability to influence/educate clients on earned media’s role within their communications and marketing efforts. Excellent storytelling skills and sound media counsel to clients and colleagues. Consistent ability to develop, manage, and implement media relations strategies across all communication channels. AP style and grammar, spelling and punctuation mastery. Ability to research, interview, write and edit a range of media communications. Experience drafting complex client correspondence and program recommendations. Proven ability to manage large projects (including budgets) and small teams simultaneously, function as a daily client contact, and develop and execute plans to meet client goals. Compensation
$95,000 – $165,000 a year, with the pay position based on qualifications, experience, location, performance, travel requirements, and business needs. Salary is one component of DJEH’s total compensation package, which may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region‑specific benefits. Benefits
