Senior Engineer I-Design (Radio Frequency)
Microchip Technology Inc. is looking for a Senior Engineer I-Design (Radio Frequency) to join the Microchip Frequency and Timing Systems business unit in Mount Holly Springs, PA.
The role focuses on designing, testing, and refining precision oscillators and RF hardware for aerospace, defense, and communication applications.
Own the oscillator design from concept through schematic design, layout, prototype assembly, testing, and manufacturing release.
Provide electrical design support to cross‑functional teams (layout, supply chain, process engineering, reliability, manufacturing, quality).
Assist in new design quote activity, specifications development with customers and Product Line Manager, and prototype build & testing.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering with a minimum of 4 years design experience in RF electronics.
Strong background in analog and digital circuits used in RF signal generation and waveform shaping.
Proficiency in electronic simulation software for RF circuit design.
Experience with test equipment (environmental chambers, power supplies, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, spectrum analyzers).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Self‑driven, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead and complete projects within committed timelines.
Preferred: Knowledge of quartz crystal oscillator design, worst‑case circuit analysis, thermal and mechanical simulation, familiarity with MIL‑PRF‑55310, MIL‑PRF‑38534, MIL‑STD‑883, and radiation effects of RF in space or military environments.
Employment type: Full‑time. Salary: $60,000–$80,000. Location: Mount Holly Springs, PA.
