Marketing Automation Manager
Mid-level role with strong technical and strategic skills. Own the design, execution, optimization, and measurement of automated marketing programs through Marketo and related systems.
Partner closely with marketing, content, sales operations, and analytics teams. Bring both hands‑on implementation experience and the ability to think strategically about lead lifecycle, customer journeys, and campaign performance.
About Us At The Practice Growth Institute, we help doctors in private practice achieve growth and long‑term success. We are passionate about empowering practice owners with the tools, strategies, and training they need to create thriving businesses and fulfilling lives. Our team thrives on innovation, collaboration, and measurable results. If you’re looking to make a real impact in a fast‑paced environment where your work directly fuels growth, this is the place for you.
Role Overview We’re seeking a mid‑level Marketing Automation Manager who can own the design, execution, optimization, and measurement of automated marketing programs through Marketo and related systems. This person will partner closely with marketing, content, sales operations, and analytics teams. The ideal candidate brings both hands‑on implementation experience and the ability to think strategically about lead lifecycle, customer journeys, and campaign performance.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Marketo expert: design, build, maintain, and optimize automated programs, nurture flows, trigger campaigns, and lifecycle programs.
Configure and manage integrations between Marketo, NetSuite, and other systems via Dell Boomi, LaunchPad, Zapier.
Lead campaign setup and execution (email, multi‑step nurture, event follow‑up, re‑engagement, etc.), ensuring quality, consistency, and scalability.
Develop and enforce best practices around segmentation, personalization, dynamic content, A/B testing, deliverability, and compliance (CAN‑SPAM, GDPR, etc.).
Monitor campaign performance and funnel metrics; generate actionable insights and recommendations; continuously optimize based on data.
Collaborate with content, creative, and marketing teams to align campaign strategy, messaging, and execution.
Maintain system hygiene: deduplication, normalization, field management, database health, and performance monitoring.
Document processes, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
Stay current with Marketo product updates, industry trends, and marketing automation innovations.
Mentor or provide guidance to junior marketing operations or automation team members, as needed.
Required Qualifications
Marketo Certification (Marketo Certified Expert or comparable credential) — non‑negotiable.
3–5 years of hands‑on marketing automation experience (ideally in B2B, healthcare, or high‑growth environments).
Demonstrated proficiency integrating marketing automation with NetSuite CRM and managing integrations with Dell Boomi.
Strong SQL skills (or equivalent ability to manipulate and query data).
Solid understanding of email deliverability, segmentation, dynamic content, and personalization techniques.
Experience with multi‑channel campaigns and attribution modeling.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
High attention to detail, strong project management skills, and the ability to juggle multiple campaigns.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; collaborative mindset.
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
Own and deliver at least 2 major nurture campaigns or lead lifecycle programs from end to end, with measurable uplift in conversion or retention.
Audit and clean up current Marketo instance (dedupes, field normalization, inactive programs) and document best practices.
Build scalable templates, automation “tools,” and playbooks that reduce execution time and increase campaign velocity.
Partner with sales / marketing teams to refine handoff rules, and SLAs to tighten the funnel.
Proactively recommend optimization experiments (A/B tests, segmentation strategies, re‑engagement flows) and track their impact.
Why You’ll Love This Role
Operate at a strategic and technical intersection—owning both the “how” and “why” of campaigns.
See your work directly impact pipeline, revenue, and growth.
Work cross‑functionally with marketing, sales, content, and analytics teams.
