The Product Design Lead shapes the vision and direction of our digital health experiences across the Libre ecosystem. This role combines vision‑setting, hands‑on design, and team leadership. Responsibilities include steering the design of new product areas, continually improving the product experience, mentoring designers, influencing cross‑functional partners, and ensuring our experiences meet the highest bar of quality, clarity, and humanity. The role is remote with regular travel to Alameda, CA.
What you’ll do
Set product vision and strategy, define the design direction for key products, influence roadmaps, and ensure experiences align with user needs and business goals.
Lead end‑to‑end product design, guiding teams from early concept exploration through polished delivery, creating prototypes, high‑fidelity designs, and narratives that clarify direction and drive alignment.
Elevate craft and systems, uphold a high bar for quality, strengthen cohesion across surfaces, and support the evolution of our design system.
Mentor and manage designers, develop team members through coaching, feedback, and structured growth.
Drive cross‑functional alignment, partnering closely with research, product, engineering, and marketing to translate insights into clear, actionable solutions for our users.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Design or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including developing designers and leading teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven track record designing and shipping holistic, end‑to‑end consumer product experiences that achieve meaningful outcomes.
Experience guiding products from 0 to 1, defining north‑star experiences, and iterating toward product‑market fit.
A refined design sensibility shaped by curiosity, critical thinking, and strong taste, paired with the ability to articulate why things work.
Strong systems‑thinking.
Mastery in usability, accessibility, and inclusive design principles.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate vision, rationale, and tradeoffs to senior stakeholders.
Portfolio demonstrating recent, high‑impact consumer product work with clear articulation of your role, thinking, and outcomes.
Deep proficiency in Figma, with the ability to iterate quickly and explore widely.
Passion for evolving your craft, whether through emerging technologies, new tools, or new ways of working.
Base pay: $127,300 – $254,700 per annum (pay may vary by location).
