Job Description

Addison Group is seeking a Public Relations Specialist for our client. This newly created role will focus on building and maintaining strong media relationships, developing impactful communication strategies, and supporting brand visibility across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and distribute press releases, advisories, and feature stories to increase public awareness.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, and media outlets.
  • Pitch stories, interviews, and opportunities to highlight leadership and programming.
  • Maintain and expand a media contact database across both faith-based and mainstream outlets.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging and brand representation across all communication channels.
  • Support publicity efforts for events, conferences, guest appearances, and special initiatives.
  • Coordinate media interviews, prepare briefing materials, and manage follow-up engagement.
  • Partner with digital teams to align PR messaging with social media campaigns.
  • Monitor online sentiment and coverage to provide insights for reputation management.
  • Assist in developing timely responses to media inquiries and crisis communication needs.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in public relations, with proven success in media outreach.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; additional experience may be considered in place of degree.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and able to perform under deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to inspire and engage audiences.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and mission-driven approach to communication.
