Creative Visual Content Associate

The Creative Visual Content Associate is integral to capturing and crafting visual narratives that showcase the exceptional American Cruise Lines experience. This multifaceted role involves extensive travel to create visually stunning photography and video across our fleet of small ships, with additional responsibilities in managing our media assets and producing engaging short-form content for various digital platforms.

To excel in this hands-on, travel-intensive position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to independently manage travel arrangements and adapt to unforeseen challenges in the field, all while working with minimal supervision.

This position offers the opportunity to travel up to 65% of the time, making it perfect for a passionate creative professional with expertise in camera and drone operation, an excellent sense of on-location production, and a solid understanding of post-production processes.

Responsibilities

Field Production:
  • Travel extensively to capture captivating photography, video, and drone footage on American Cruise Lines ships and at diverse locations.
  • Operate advanced cameras, drones, lighting, and audio equipment independently or collaboratively.
  • Make real-time production decisions that address changing conditions while upholding brand and quality standards.
  • Capture both stunning scenic shots and authentic lifestyle content that align with our brand for use across various media platforms.
Post-Production & Asset Management:
  • Organize, categorize, and maintain a comprehensive media library following established protocols and metadata tagging systems.
  • Edit and prepare b-roll, photo selections, and short video segments for both internal and external applications.
  • Create basic video edits and social media deliverables using Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Edit and color-correct images for marketing and public relations using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
  • Deliver completed assets effectively to relevant marketing teams and stakeholders.
Equipment & Logistics:
  • Ensure camera, drone, and lighting equipment are well-maintained and ready for travel and production.
  • Manage shipping logistics and inventory for field equipment as necessary.
Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in professional photography and videography, including shot composition, lighting, and audio skills.
  • Experience with commercial drone operation (FAA Part 107 certification preferred).
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, Lightroom, and Photoshop.
  • Basic knowledge of After Effects is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing extensive media assets.
  • Comfortable working independently and traveling for extended periods on ships and to remote locations.
  • A proven track record of planning and executing logistics independently, along with making impactful decisions on-site with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills for dynamic environments.
Preferred Additional Experience
  • Familiarity with Canon DSLR and Cinema cameras (e.g., R5C, C70).
  • Understanding of color grading and basic audio mixing for short videos.
  • Experience creating content for platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • A keen creative eye for storytelling and a consistent visual style that represents the brand well.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Communications, Photography, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant professional experience in field production, photography, or related creative roles.
  • FAA Part 107 Drone Certification is required.
  • A willingness and ability to travel up to 65% of the time, including overnight, weekends, and extended shoots.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage travel logistics, adapt to challenges in the field, and make confident decisions without oversight.
  • A professional demeanor while working aboard ships and in diverse field locations, producing a comprehensive array of photo, video, drone, and social media content that meets brand standards and reflects the professionalism of American Cruise Lines during interactions with guests, crew, and communities.
