UX Researcher Job at TEKsystems in San Diego

Job Summary

UX Researcher – Contract position with LPL Financial. The assignment lasts 4+ months (estimated 6 months) and is fully remote from San Diego, CA. Applicants must be within 55 miles of the San Diego hub.

Responsibilities

• Develop research plans, workflows, user task analysis, personas, journey/experience maps, process flows, and service blueprints.
• Lead user research throughout the product lifecycle: planning and running usability studies, analyzing data, conducting heuristic evaluations, facilitating workshops, and performing low‑ to high‑fidelity usability tests.
• Present findings to cross‑functional teams and negotiate trade‑offs between business goals, technical challenges, and customer experience.
• Coordinate and take direction from the lead researcher on assigned areas of focus.

Requirements

• Skilled in moderated interviews, unmoderated usability tests, surveys (Qualtrics), and other foundational UX research methods.
• Manage end‑to‑end participant engagement—including scheduling, communication, and logistics— to align with research timelines and learning goals.
• Advanced Excel skills for analysis and representation via pivot tables and charts.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in user experience research & analysis, ideally in complex or regulated industries.
• 2+ years of experience working on a project team, meeting timelines, and managing competing priorities.
• Proven ability to navigate and manage complex, high‑stakes business relationships with discretion and professionalism.

• Experience working in agile/pod structures.
• Familiarity with financial services is a bonus.
• Experience cultivating strong cross‑functional partnerships by aligning research objectives with business priorities.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $35.00 per hour.
