Event Technical Specialist, Audio Visual (Part-Time) - Production Team Boston
The Technical Specialist is responsible for the technical set up and operation of enhanced mid‑level production events in a hospitality environment, while ensuring the utmost in client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Ensure flawless event execution through accurate and timely setup, operation and breakdown of advanced audiovisual equipment.
Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly as they arise.
Comply with all company security and safety measures.
Ensure equipment is secure from theft and/or damage.
Provide excellent service and exceed expectations of internal and external customers.
Maintain positive relationships with all clients through effective communication.
Collaborate with internal team on event solutions pre‑event and during event.
Understands and fosters the hotel/client relationship.
Create an atmosphere that fosters development of technical and leadership skills in other employees.
Mentor and coach technical, sales, and operations team members to develop technical skills.
Develop as subject matter expert and stay current with technology and industry trends.
Perform advanced work (pre/during/post event) with operations team members.
Supervise and direct other technicians during an event.
Assist team with security, storage, inventory, transportation and maintenance of equipment.
Perform inventory and forecasting of equipment needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
3+ years of event technology experience with a specialty in Audio, Lighting, Projection, or Video is required.
3‑4 years of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
Internal applicants must meet all training and certification requirements as determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program within 60 days.
External applicants must meet all required training and certifications within 60 days of start date.
Must be able to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse workforce, customer base and senior level management.
Strong customer, client and coworker interface experience and abilities.
Valid driver’s license is required for positions that may operate company vehicles.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a hotel or convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. Conditions vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members will use high‑end audio‑visual equipment and electrical components and may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Multiple hotel locations and irregular hours (including on‑call days, evenings, weekends and holidays) may be required. Appearance guidelines are defined by Encore.
Work is also performed at event venues and in a warehouse environment. Similar conditions and standards apply, with exposure to outdoor temperatures and moderate noise. Teams may be called for irregular and on‑call hours.

Hourly Pay Range: $29.16 – $35.73.
