You will be responsible for producing props, sets, vignettes, signs and room decor using various materials such as wood, metal, foam, paint, vinyl, fabric and more. This candidate will work with various MGM events teams to help create elaborate sets and custom decorations. **THE STARTING RATE:** $21.00/hour **THE DAY-TO-DAY:*** Use design direction and specifications to fabricate décor treatments for room, ceiling, entry, stage and walls* Use appropriate techniques and tools to paint, cut, sew, glue and assemble props to produce well developed, safe, quality decor* Properly pack needed items for transport, unpack and check goods against orders and handle inventory to protect against damage* Ensure that tools are maintained and areas used are left in a clean and orderly condition* Stay current in design trends, production techniques and vendor products and share/train with teams to inspire creativity* Lead crews in-studio or on installation and tear downs on selected events* Participate in event installation/tear down and loading/unloading of vehicles as needed* Create a positive work environment promoting creativity, collaboration, teamwork, recognition.**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:*** Must be a minimum of 18 years of age* High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required* 1+ years of prior relevant experience in set and prop construction, theatre, fabric, and/or events design is required* Prior experience producing large sets/props, sculptures, or museum displays is preferred* Experience with artistic wood working, carpentry, CNC machining, or electrical design is highly preferred* Ability to work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays is required* Ability to complete design test onsite in conjunction with interview process is required**THE PERKS & BENEFITS:*** Access to company hotel, food and beverage, retail, and entertainment discounts as well as discounts with company partners on things like travel, electronics, online shopping, and more* Free parking on and off shift at strip properties* Professional and personal development through programs and networking opportunities as well as volunteer opportunities in the community**VIEW JOB DESCRIPTION:**Are you ready to **JOIN THE SHOW**At MGM Resorts, we exist to entertain the human race and provide an unforgettable escape.
