Role: Senior Social Media Manager Location: New York, NY
About the role: OLIVER is seeking a qualified Senior Social Media Manager to join our dynamic ice cream team, with in-person participation required. We are looking for a tech-savvy professional who can provide strategic thought leadership in social and brand management, with a strong emphasis on community engagement and content creation management. People management skills are also essential for success in this role.
The ideal candidate will have experience in social media, video, imagery, strategy, data analytics, and marketing campaigns. Exceptional oral and written communication skills are a must, along with the ability to develop engaging content. You should be a natural communicator with excellent customer service capabilities and the ability to moderate both online and offline interactions with our community. This position will be based in the NY/NJ area as in-person participation is required.
What you will be doing: Develop social media content calendars and campaigns for well-known brands in the ice cream space
Work with our in-house creative teams to create engaging video, copy and photography assets for social media channels
Design social assets using Canva, CapCut (design work is light)
Compile comprehensive analytical reports with recommendations for owned channels and campaigns
Coordinate with Marketing, PR and Communications teams to ensure brand consistency
Liaise with the brand to stay updated on new products and features
Oversee high profile partnership logistics including strategy and execution
Increase knowledge on how to navigate controversial topics responsibly. Knowledge of the PR risks and opportunities associated with these types of stances.
Look at every initiative through a SWOT analysis.
Interpret partnership briefs and legal documents related to channel assets and usage.
Counsel brand team on the best way to utilize partners across social and how to measure success.
Work quickly and effectively to oversee a macro community in the millions.
Serve as a liaison between the brand team and key stakeholders, discerning what information needs to be shared.
Provide counsel to the brand team on social media channels – including best practices, new channels for consideration.
Track record of increasing brand affinity through social-led opportunities and trends
Experience working with high profile legacy brands with a focus on engagement more than awareness.
Work with the larger IAT to effectively represent social and align it with larger brand strategies.
Spearhead social planning for the following year, adapting as brand priorities change.
Basic creative background and knowledge to plan and ideate content and big ideas. Lead the creative team to deliver work aligned with client goals.
Assess available creative assets and proactively recommend when new assets are needed.
What you need to be great in this role: 3-4 years of experience in advertising and/or public relations agency
Experience working with high profile brands
Experience in client relations and adapting to different personalities and work styles
Proven experience in growing and managing a social community
Experience launching community initiatives (e.g., online forums, ambassador programs, event series, newsletters)
Experience creating and managing social content calendars
Ability to perform light design work
Ability to identify and track relevant qualitative metrics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Hands-on experience with social media management for brands
Knowledge of online marketing channels
Ability to write social captions across platforms
Multi-cultural creative marketing experience preferred
Experience with ice cream brands preferred
The base salary ranges from $76,500 to $85,500, based on various factors. This range is part of OLIVER’s total compensation package.
