Responsibilities: Lead all phases of research, formulation, and product development for new and existing personal care products-from ideation and prototyping through validation, scale-up, and commercial launch. Define and own the long-term innovation roadmap and technical strategy across all product categories. Champion our company's leadership in clean formulation, sustainability, and high-performing product solutions. Oversee the end-to-end innovation lifecycle, including regulatory approval, pilot production, manufacturing scale-up, and commercialization. Collaborate with executive leadership to align innovation initiatives with corporate strategy, financial objectives, and customer expectations. Lead technical due diligence and feasibility evaluations for emerging technologies, ingredient platforms, and new customer opportunities. Manage, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary R&D organization of scientists, chemists, and technical support professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration, scientific rigor, accountability, and continuous innovation. Strengthen organizational capabilities through talent development, strategic resource planning, and targeted technology investments. Partner closely with Business Development, Account Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Regulatory teams to deliver on-time, on-budget product launches. Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, clearly communicating formulation strategy, testing results, and regulatory positioning. Lead and coordinate the stage-gate development process, ensuring cross-functional alignment at every milestone. Translate consumer insights into differentiated formulation strategies and innovative technologies that create customer value. Identify, evaluate, and integrate new raw materials, actives, and processing technologies to strengthen product performance and market differentiation. Establish and uphold rigorous technical standards for documentation, claims substantiation, and regulatory compliance. Lead scale-up efforts by defining critical process parameters to ensure seamless pilot-to-commercial transfer. Act as the senior technical authority within the organization, representing R&D in executive forums, customer engagements, and strategic partnerships. Maintain transparent, proactive communication with senior leadership regarding project progress, risks, and opportunities. Cultivate a culture of customer focus, entrepreneurial thinking, and innovation excellence. Required Experience: Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or a related scientific discipline. 10+ years of progressive R&D and product development leadership in Personal Care, Beauty, or OTC categories. Proven record of developing and commercializing breakthrough products with measurable business impact. Deep expertise in formulation science, ingredient functionality, claims validation, and stability/compatibility testing. Strong grasp of global regulatory frameworks (FDA, EU, ISO, etc.) sustainability principles, and IP strategy. Demonstrated success in scaling lab formulations to commercial production. Strategic thinker who can connect scientific discovery to market-driven innovation. Excellent communicator capable of translating technical concepts into compelling business narratives.
