About the Role Are you a technically minded librarian/archivist interested in the history of infrastructure in Western Washington? This position offers an opportunity to work on a fun and collaborative team dedicated to water quality, process improvement and producing quality designs to improve the Wastewater Treatment Division’s (WTD) Conveyance and Treatment Systems. Summary We are looking for a librarian/archivist who can manage our Engineering Content Management System (ECMS), which includes cataloging engineering drawings, transferring record drawings into the ECMS database for operations incorporation into master drawings, managing the database and providing customer support to internal and external requests for engineering drawings. This role will help ensure WTD has accurate records of built infrastructure. About the Team The King County Wastewater Treatment Division is responsible for centralized wastewater treatment for all of King County and conveying sewage from cities and sewer districts to regional treatment plants. This position is within our Engineering and Technical Resources Unit, a team of engineers, technical professionals, and designers who work to accomplish our Capital Improvement Program. Job Duties Serve as the Administrator of the Engineering and Technical Resources digital engineering project collection stored in ECMS. Provide assistance to internal and external customers researching engineering records. Help manage ECMS, an online document management system that holds about 100,000 individual records. Develop policies and procedures for managing, digitizing, and retrieving these records. Work collaboratively with Engineers and Designers to manage engineering records. Qualifications You Bring Degree in Library and Information Science or demonstrated equivalent experience. Working knowledge of an Electronic Content Management System. Working Conditions The Engineering team works in a hybrid model, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be subject to change. Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites. Work schedule is covered under the FLSA and is overtime eligible.
