Expeditor Manager Location : Hybrid – Chicago, IL (2 days on-site). Relocation considered for those outside Chicago area.

Our client is a global supply‑chain partner supporting multi‑million‑dollar capital projects for a Fortune‑ranked consumer‑goods brand. With more than $650 M in active purchase orders flowing through 230 + vendors, the team safeguards on‑time delivery of mission‑critical equipment. To fuel this growth, they are adding an Expeditor Manager who will elevate vendor performance, coach a high‑caliber team, and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead & Develop Teams – Direct a blended group of ~4 U.S. expeditors and ~6 offshore resources, providing coaching, workload balancing, and career advancement.

Workflow Excellence – Ensure three‑way match integrity across SAP, Coupa, and GEM databases while clearing GR/IR discrepancies rapidly.

Vendor Escalations – Act as the primary escalation point for delays, disputes, and invoice issues, negotiating recovery plans and alternate routings.

Data‑Driven KPIs – Design and monitor metrics such as PO confirmations, vendor response cycles, and aging invoices, presenting insights to leadership.

Process Improvement – Launch initiatives that reduce cycle times and enhance data accuracy across a $650 M order portfolio.

Compliance & Logistics – Enforce shipping, packing, and crating standards in concert with freight‑forwarder teams.

People Leadership – Conduct performance reviews, identify skill gaps, and nurture a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 7+ years in vendor management, procurement, or supply‑chain operations, including leadership experience.

Proven expertise in vendor performance management, conflict resolution, and escalation handling.

Proficiency with SAP, Coupa, and advanced Excel/Power BI analytics.

Strong analytical acumen and ability to translate trends into action plans.

Excellent communication and cross‑functional influence skills.

Willingness to travel up to 20 % for vendor or team visits.
