Position Overview Autodesk is seeking an Experience Design Architect to join our Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) division. As a visionary leader, you will focus on experience architecture, design strategy, and organizational alignment to unify and modernize our Building Design products. You will integrate design, make, data, and people across the entire AEC lifecycle, driving the future of design by fostering a modern and innovative experience for our users.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary user experience leader for Building Design products, defining actionable strategies that unify business, technology, and customer priorities

Creates business impact by clarifying the most important business issues and outcomes

Own system-level experience architecture, which spans platforms, helps drive system architecture and broad product strategy.

Drive implementation of new processes and standards for systems thinking across organizations

Drive design cohesion, unification, and modernization across AEC initiatives

Exhibit collaborative leadership across multiple functions and broad-reaching cross-product initiatives

Partner with design managers to build high-performing teams and evolve design practices. Providing mentorship and coaching for other designers and on complex and critical projects

Engage executive leadership and the organization with IA thought leadership

Collaborate with customers, executive stakeholders, designers, engineers, and product managers

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure Autodesk's products remain innovative and competitive

Minimum Qualifications

15+ years’ experience in user experience design or related field

Expertise in human-centered design, information architecture, user research, and design systems

Ability to advocate for a shared design vision that aligns with customer and business priorities with diverse audiences, including senior executives

Mastery of effective communication and storytelling strategies

Extensive facilitation experience to choose design thinking principles and processes with clear outcomes

Recognized both internally and externally for mastery of information architecture theory, practice, research methodologies, and strategies

Ability to work in an agile and fast-moving design environment

Experience in creating influential relationships within and across product groups

Very advanced expert roles that provide advice relevant to their subject matter expertise to senior leaders

Jobs at this level reflect sophisticated subject matter expertise and consultative capabilities

Development of novel, highly innovative solutions is often required

Recognized as experts within a discipline, and also apply working knowledge of the theories and concepts in other related disciplines

Lead the resolution of complex problems within own discipline, often with the need to integrate cross-functional processes and outcomes

Anticipate business challenges that could have significant impact on Autodesk's operational and financial success, and proactively develop solutions to address them

Provide input to functional strategies related to own discipline

Influence leaders within own function to adopt solutions, establish priorities, and allocate resources

May lead teams or projects with broad visibility

Preferred Qualifications

Passion for AEC and empowering professionals

Familiarity with Autodesk AEC products or competitive products

Proven experience working at a large-cap SaaS company

Experience driving large-scale design unification across multiple verticals or products

Demonstrated innovation through patents, publications, conference presentations, etc

Salary transparency Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $155,800 and $251,900. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
