COMMERCIAL MUSIC: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit) San Diego Community College District Location: District Wide Position Type: Adjunct Closing Date: Open Until Filled Posting Details (Default Section) note: This pool is for adjunct/part-time opportunities across the district and does not guarantee immediate openings. Applications are kept on file for possible assignments in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters. If you meet the required minimum qualifications, your application will be considered for possible assignments. Applications are purged approximately one year from submittal; you may be asked to re-apply to remain in the pool. Pay Information: You may view the current salary schedule by clicking here. At the time of an offer, proper salary placement is contingent upon receipt of official transcripts and/or foreign degree evaluations. Initial placement is at the first class/step until official transcripts have been submitted. Special Notes: The San Diego Community College District accepts applications for adjunct positions for the City, Mesa, and Miramar campuses and various continuing education centers. Applicants should reside within commuting distance to San Diego. Required to complete: Official college transcripts, tuberculosis certificate, Live Scan fingerprints, and work eligibility verification prior to employment. See posting for full requirements. Major Responsibilities
Primary duties related to curriculum and teaching; assignment may be split between lecture and lab as determined by the department. Adjunct instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class. Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. Maintain professional conduct and ethics; stay current in subject matter areas. Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member. Teach all scheduled classes and maintain accurate records. Provide quality instruction and create an environment that emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any Bachelor’s degree AND two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment; OR Any Associate degree AND six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment; OR The equivalent. AND, demonstrate cultural competency and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students and staff. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
If you do not possess the exact degrees listed, consider completing an Equivalency or providing foreign degree evaluation as applicable. Applicants with foreign degrees must have coursework evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation service and submit the evaluation with the application. Licenses/Certificates/Credentials: California Community College Instructor Credential in Commercial Music (if possessed) is desirable and valid for life. Pay Information
