What you will be doing
Review and evaluate design drawings for alternative build pursuits to ensure constructability, cost efficiency and design optimization.
Collaborate with technical services, construction management and estimating teams to gather input, identify risks and improve design performance.
Provide technical insight in meetings to align design intent, cost implications and project understanding across teams.
Partner closely with external design firms and internal engineering, estimating and construction teams to identify design risks and optimization opportunities.
Recommend, document and track design-related change orders to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Prepare and submit design progress and cost reports to keep project teams aligned on budget and schedule.
Ensure complete and timely submission of all design packages and permits to prevent delays; attend public information sessions as needed.
Participate in technical reviews, design presentations and owner meetings to support change approvals and design clarity.
Submit monthly design status reports to project and operations leadership.
What we are looking for
Bachelor's degree in engineering required; professional engineer (P.E./P.Eng.) license preferred.
10+ years of experience in construction design, engineering or estimating with a focus on alternative delivery (design-build, P3).
Proven ability to lead cross-functional design coordination and manage external design partners.
Proficiency in Procore, Primavera P6, AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
Strong communication, analytical and technical writing skills.
Solid understanding of construction engineering principles and design optimization.
