Your impact We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Design Manager to support our municipal water and industrial water infrastructure projects. Design Centers are focused in the US and Canada but deliver projects globally. Focused designs deliver water and wastewater solutions, including the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, water conveyance and consulting for our industrial and municipal clients. The Design Manager will lead the scoping, planning, and delivery of our projects including the quality and financial performance of the design team.
As a Design Manager, you will be able to leverage your people management skills to optimize your team’s performance and consistently deliver high‑quality technical solutions for our clients. Additional Responsibilities
Lead and manage teams through all phases of design – planning, execution, and closeout consistent with established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule, budget, quality as well as client expectations
Manage and coordinate between multidisciplinary teams for a holistic delivery of industrial water design deliveries
Must be highly organized with attention to detail
Interface with clients on multidisciplinary design decisions
Be accountable for successfully completing projects to the satisfaction of the project manager, clients, and key stakeholders, while simultaneously ensuring that Jacobs’ business and policy expectations are met in the areas of health and safety, quality, financial, project delivery, and risk management
Contribute to the development of the Industrial Water Market Strategy that delivers leading‑edge technology solutions for our clients
Demonstrate leadership by example with integrity and candor and in support of Jacobs Culture of Caring work environment
Experience with large scale Industrial Water projects is a plus
Experience with design/build, progressive design build, CMAR, or other collaborative delivery methods is a plus
Requirements
BS or MS Degree in Engineering or other engineering discipline with a focus on water/wastewater systems
Minimum 10 years engineering experience, with at least 5 years managing multidiscipline design teams
Construction background is applicable
Preferred
PE License or ability to obtain
Experience with Design‑Build and/or other collaborative delivery methods

The base salary range for this position is $138,000.00 to $190,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
