Portfolio Marketing Lead - Herbicides, U.S. & Global

Manage existing portfolio & develop asset strategy including portfolio solutions, product lifecycle management. Build a portfolio pipeline for mid-long-term growth (3-6-year horizon); Drive new product launches to broad scale market entry. Lead Innovation Cycle by bringing new ideas into the segment. Establish a strong flow of communication with the Commercial and R&D teams for achieving the portfolio objectives. Be responsible for annual profit, loss, and strategy development of the assigned product portfolio. Interface with multiple functions within the organization including sales, key account managers, supply chain, finance, development, regulatory, and global marketing. Provide marketing direction and support to the sales team in support of achieving set product goals.

Portfolio Management

Develop and implement annual business and strategic marketing plans including volume targets, pricing, and positioning for assigned portfolio.

In conjunction with marketing, sales, and finance teams, support the development of annual market programs to drive demand creation.

Lead the continued development of the UPL product pipeline, launching new products and collaborating with product development and technical teams to develop a robust and customer centric pipeline.

On-going support of sales; active interaction with sales organization and external customers including distributors and retailers.

Oversee and direct advertising, communications, and public relations activities to support marketing plans.

Coordinate with Regulatory for state and federal registrations for existing portfolio, including product label expansion.

Work closely with supply chain and procurement to establish key cost optimization initiatives ensuring projects are defined and completed in a timely fashion.

Coordinate product supply with Sales and Key Accounts; update forecasts for assigned products monthly.

Strategic Planning

Create and manage 3-5-year strategic plan for portfolio to achieve sales and profit targets.

Conduct competitive analyses and market research to identify market opportunities.

Identify alternate sourcing & expansion for key growth molecules in the portfolio.

Identify new growth pipeline leveraging combined portfolio and new formulations

Develop and recommend product pricing / profitability and positioning strategies for current and future products across all relevant customer and market segments.

Lead Portfolio Leadership Teams (marketing, R&D, regulatory) and manage approved projects within current project management system.

Maintain third party agreements with expected obligations.

Interface with global marketing and development managers

Build business cases with existing products.

Required Education and Experience

BS or BA degree required with a preferred focus in Agricultural Science or Business.

Overall 10+ years of experience in Ag-Business. Experience across functional areas of Sales / Product Management / Marketing / Strategic Product Marketing roles will be preferred.

Proven success in leadership roles in Strategic / Product Marketing at a Regional (US / Canada) or global level.

Excellent leadership skills and ability to connect and engage with diverse cultures.

Strong analytical mindset, data-driven decision-making, and strategic thinking.

Proven success in driving projects in a large, matrixed organization.

Outstanding communication and presentation skills for both internal and external audiences.
