Overview Join K-8 Music Teacher (Strings Specialist) at Mystic Valley Regional Charter School . Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality music instruction aligned with Core Knowledge curriculum and school-wide standards. Design string and general music lessons with clear, measurable objectives that promote musical growth. Assess student performance on a regular basis and provide timely progress updates through reports and communication with families. Collaborate closely with members of the Specials Department and maintain ongoing communication with the assigned Assistant Director. Implement the school's assertive discipline model to support a positive, structured, and productive learning environment. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required school events. responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Director. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field (required). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze information, solve problems, and recommend effective solutions. Ability to cultivate positive, supportive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Knowledge of state and federal educational regulations, school policies, and MVRCS procedures. Experience teaching strings, coaching student performers, and engaging learners across varying skill levels. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned to school goals and student needs. Successful completion of all required MTEL exams within the first year of employment. Reporting Structure This is a full-time, school-year position reporting to the Assistant Director. Performance is evaluated annually, and the position is renewed on a yearly basis.
