Technical Director & Head Coach About the Role:
Loudoun United FC (USL Championship & USL League Two) are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and dedicated Video Analyst to support the First Team technical staff across both programs. The Analyst will play a crucial role in enhancing team performance through comprehensive opposition scouting, post-match review, and individual player development. This position requires extreme flexibility, a deep understanding of tactical football principles, and proficiency in modern video analysis software. Key Responsibilities And Duties
Match & Opposition Analysis Opposition Scouting: Prepare detailed, high-quality video reports on upcoming USL Championship and USL League Two opponents, focusing on system of play, set-piece tendencies (attack and defense), transition moments, and key player profiles. Pre-Match Presentation: Assist the Head Coach in compiling and delivering clear, concise, and impactful video presentations to the team on opposition analysis in the days leading up to the fixture. Live Analysis: Provide real-time data and video clips to the Head Coach and technical staff during matches, primarily at halftime, to inform tactical adjustments. Team & Player Performance Review Post-Match Analysis: Complete timely, comprehensive video breakdown of all First Team matches (USL Championship and USL League Two). Tag all key events, including possession sequences, defensive actions, build-up play, pressing traps, and tactical errors. Individual Player Development: Create tailored video packages and highlight reels for players based on their individual development plans (IDPs). Work closely with the Assistant Coaches to provide objective feedback on performance against set goals. Training Integration: Work with the Head Coach to film, tag, and analyze training sessions as required, providing clips to staff to inform session planning and execution. Technical Operations & Data Management Software Management: Maintain and manage all video analysis software databases (e.g., Hudl Sportscode, Wyscout, or similar platform). Ensure all video footage is correctly logged, categorized, and accessible to the technical staff. Data Integration: Integrate video analysis with objective performance data (e.g., GPS tracking data, Opta/Stats Perform metrics) to create a holistic view of team and player performance. Equipment Maintenance: Manage and maintain all club-owned video equipment, including cameras, tripods, laptops, and storage devices. Required Qualifications And Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Sports Management, or related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Video Analyst for a professional, semi-professional, or elite collegiate soccer program. Software Proficiency (Mandatory): High-level proficiency with industry-standard video analysis tools (e.g., Hudl Sportscode, Metrica Sports, or Focus/SICS). Tactical Knowledge: Deep, verifiable understanding of modern soccer tactics, formations, and coaching terminology. Availability: Must be able to work flexible hours, including all match days (weekends and evenings), and travel domestically with the USL Championship team. Technical Skills: Proficient in creating visually appealing, professional presentations (PowerPoint/Keynote) and data visualization.
