Film & Video Members’ Group
Part-Time Videographer / Social Media Content Creator
Film & Video Members’ Group, Boston, Massachusetts, us, 02298
Position Title: Part-Time Videographer / Social Media Content Creator
Organization: Independent restaurant and chef (Boston / Lynn / North Shore, MA)
Location: On-site in Lynn / North Shore, MA
Position Type: Part‑time, paid
Compensation: $20–$25 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
Position Overview An independent restaurant and its working chef are seeking a part‑time videographer / social media content creator to help share our story online. The role is split between content focused on the chef’s personality and creative process and content focused on the restaurant, food, and service. This is a strong opportunity for a film, media, communications, or marketing student or early‑career creator who wants ongoing, real‑world experience building short‑form video content for social platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Film the chef in candid, conversational settings: day‑in‑the‑life moments, short Q&As, dish explanations, and behind‑the‑scenes clips.
Capture video inside the restaurant, including cooking and plating, ingredients, dining room details, and team interactions.
Edit polished vertical videos (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) with a reality‑TV style feel: candid, close‑up, energetic, but still clean and cohesive.
Prepare content optimized for social platforms (hooks, pacing, text overlays, basic captions, and suitable audio).
Collaborate directly with the chef/owner on ideas, shot lists, and ongoing content series.
Qualifications
Current student or early‑career creator in film, media, communications, marketing, or a related field.
Comfortable filming in low‑light, fast‑paced environments (kitchen and dining room).
Basic proficiency with video editing software (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci).
Able to move respectfully and safely in a small, busy workspace.
Reliable, communicative, and receptive to feedback.
Evening and weekend availability is required, as this is when most content needs to be captured.
Hours & Schedule Part‑time, with flexible scheduling on weekdays. Consistent evening and weekend hours for filming during service and events. Exact weekly hours can be arranged around class schedules.
Application Instructions
