Hours:

40 hrs/week, Monday‑Friday 7am‑6pm with flexible arrangement up to 2 remote days per week.

Exempt

Purpose The Head leads the teams responsible for the full lifecycle of content licensing, procurement, and processing while setting strategic priorities, optimizing workflows, fostering staff development, and advancing a user‑centered approach to collection building and delivery.

Responsibilities

Lead the Resource Acquisition, Management, and Processing unit, providing direction, evaluating staff, and establishing priorities that ensure effective workflows and outcomes.

Review and evaluate workflows across sub‑units to increase efficiencies and enhance communication.

Advise on a user‑centered, holistic vision to meet current and emerging information needs.

Ensure staff receive proper training and that operational functions are complete, accurate, and timely.

Maintain excellent working relationships with other units, departments, and vendors to resolve complex licensing and procurement issues, coordinate vendor resource and platform training, and build a strong network of peers.

Serve on committees, task forces, and working groups related to departmental responsibilities.

Support library outreach to stakeholders through communication and collaboration.

Perform other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree (or equivalent) in library or information science or related field.

Four years of relevant experience, with at least three years in acquisitions, electronic resources management, or a closely related area.

At least one year of supervision experience.

Demonstrated leadership, analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and facilitation skills.

Forward‑thinking approach with enthusiasm for adopting new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing acquisitions and electronic resources workflows, including Ex Libris Alma and Primo.

Expertise in the lifecycle management of library materials (licensing, procurement, renewal, payment).

Experience with acquisitions modules, link resolvers, and knowledge bases.

Primary contact experience for troubleshooting and maintaining electronic and print resource access.

Knowledge of collection assessment methods, usage statistics, cost‑per‑use, and overlap analysis.

Understanding of collection development, budgeting, and fiscal management.

Proven partnership building with stakeholders at local, regional, and national levels.

Engagement with trends, standards, and emerging developments in acquisitions, electronic resources, and technical services.

Collaborative teamwork in a dynamic environment.

Documenting procedures and conducting workflow assessments.

Salary Range $75,000 + depending on qualifications.
