Position Overview We are seeking a Communications Specialist to develop and execute communication and publicity strategies supporting two semi-annual industry conferences. This hands‑on role blends written and digital marketing skills and requires a detail‑oriented, self‑directed professional who can work independently while maintaining strong collaborative relationships. The position is remote and averages about 10 hours per week more during conference periods and is lighter during off‑season months.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness and grow conference attendance.
Create and distribute content (email and social media) highlighting speakers, agenda topics, event value, and key announcements—approximately three messages per week.
Implement basic SEO strategies to strengthen online visibility.
Marketing & Communications
Create marketing materials such as:
Attendee guide
Sponsor opportunity brochure
Executive summary/one-pager
Upload and maintain marketing materials and updates on the organization’s website.
Coordinate telemarketing messaging to support attendee growth.
Track and analyze marketing metrics to optimize campaigns and improve ROI.
Conference Support
Coordinate and maintain attendee lists.
Collaborate with sponsors to compile and distribute a monthly newsletter.
Attend both conferences each year and support on‑site communications and brand‑awareness efforts.
Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in email marketing, social media marketing, basic graphic design, written communications.
Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
Comfortable working remotely with a flexible schedule.
