Sr Technical Lead, Audio Visual - Sheraton Boston Hotel
The Sr. Technical Lead is a Mid-Tier technical operator focusing on small general session work, or assisting with larger general sessions. This role bridges between technical lead and technical specialist and reports to an Operations Manager, Director of Operations, or DET.
Key Job Responsibilities
Equipment Operation
- Ensures flawless event execution through accurate and timely set up, operation, and breakdown of advanced audiovisual equipment.
- Troubleshoots technical issues and resolves problems quickly.
- Complies with all company security and safety measures.
- Ensures equipment is secure from theft and/or damage when in use.
Customer Service
- Provides excellent service and strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
- Maintains a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication.
- Collaborates with the internal team on event solutions pre-event and during event to ensure the best possible customer satisfaction.
- Understands and fosters the hotel/client relationship.
Training/Staff Development
- Creates an atmosphere that fosters the development of technical and leadership skills in other employees.
- Provides mentorship and coaching to technical, sales, and operations team members to develop technical skills as needed.
Event Supervision
- Performs advanced work (pre/during/post event) with operations team members.
- Supervises and directs other technicians during an event.
Equipment Maintenance
- Assists the team with proper security, storage, transportation, and maintenance of equipment.
- Performs inventory and forecasting of equipment needs.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 2+ years of field experience in specialty area required.
- 2-3 years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.

- A valid driver’s license required for team members in positions that may operate company vehicles. Additional DOT requirements may need to be met if applicable.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment
Hotel: Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment. The environment varies from moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members will use high-end audio-visual equipment and will be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Working times will include irregular hours, on‑call status, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines based on Encore’s standards for hotels.
Warehouse: Work is performed at event venues and in a warehouse environment. Working conditions vary from moderately quiet to noisy volumes and involve high-end audio-visual equipment. Working times may include irregular hours and on‑call status, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Hourly Pay Range: $21.91 - $26.84. The compensation offered for this role is determined based on the qualifications outlined in the job posting for the specified location. Final compensation is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant work experience, or particular skills and expertise. In addition, some positions may be eligible for other compensation such as overtime, bonuses or incentives.
