Job Title
Candidate is responsible for creating drawings for concept formulation, design development, building, renovations, floor rearrangements and construction projects. Candidate will be required to perform field visits to take dimensions and record as-built conditions. Responsibilities also include maintaining the personnel database and floor plans using graphical interface software as well as updating existing Facilities drawings, document index and records. The ideal candidate must be a motivated self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently. Candidate must establish a working relationship with Facilities engineers and trade personnel, vendors, the customer and EB management Qualifications
Required: High School Diploma or GED 2+ years of professional drafting, design, and/or CAD experience Preferred: 5+ years of experience Trade/Tech School Associates degree (or higher) in architecture/engineering Skills
This position requires cross function / discipline skills, including knowledge of: architectural layouts, civil, structural, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, controls, piping, other infrastructure and systems as they relate to the Groton shipyard and ancillary sites within Connecticut. Candidate must possess a questioning attitude and desire to continue to learn the disciplines. Experience with AutoCAD 2024 and Microsoft programs Physical Qualifications
