Volt is immediately hiring for a Senior Fire Sprinkler Designer in Denver and/or Colorado Springs, CO. Relocation assistance available.

As a Sr. Fire Sprinkler Designer, you will:

  • Create detailed layouts for fire sprinkler, standpipe, and fire pump systems using CAD tools.
  • Develop shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material lists with strict adherence to NFPA standards and local codes.
  • Coordinate designs with MEP teams and general contractors using 3D modeling tools like NavisWorks.
  • Prepare submittals, secure permits, and ensure timely approvals.
  • Manage project responsibilities including material procurement, subcontractor buyouts, RFIs, scheduling, and budget oversight.
  • Serve as a technical resource for junior designers and collaborate with field teams, AHJs, and clients.

This is a full time, direct hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Background in fire protection design
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and fire sprinkler design software AutoSprink
  • Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of NFPA standards (13, 13D, 13R, 14, 20, 25)
  • NICET Level III Certification at minimum

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Revit and/or NavisWorks
  • NICET Level IV or PE
  • Special Hazards design experience

Pay Rate: $40.00 - $65.00 per hour.
