Senior Designer
Barrow Interiors is looking for a full‑time or part‑time Senior Designer to lead and manage high‑end and large‑scale projects in the Charleston area and Kiawah Island from concept to completion. The ideal candidate is a creative, go‑getter with a proactive attitude, technical and an organized individual who can succeed in a collaborative team environment. This position requires an extremely detailed person with excellent communication and client relationship building skills. The role will oversee projects from concept to installation with project management, including specifications, purchasing and installation for both luxury construction projects and whole‑house furnishings.
Responsibilities
Develop material palettes, FF&E selections, and design presentation materials for both selections and whole‑house furnishings design
Prepare detailed, professional drawing sets in AutoCAD for construction and furniture fabrication
Coordinate with fabricators, millworkers, trades, artists and contractors
Manage day‑to‑day communication with clients, contractors, and vendors
Lead site visits and design reviews onsite
Track project schedules, budgets, and action items in design software (Studio Designer)
Prepare for and attend all client presentations with the team
Source and specify FF&E, finishes, fixtures, and custom items
Obtain pricing, manage quotes, and coordinate with receivers and installers
Support installation and styling of completed spaces
Requirements
5–7+ years of experience in high‑end residential interior design
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, detailing and architectural plans for architectural review and collaboration
Proficiency in AutoCAD for construction documentation
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) for concept boards and presentations
Proficiency with Studio Designer software for proposals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized, self‑motivated, and capable of working independently and collaborating as part of a team
Attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and shifting priorities
Process driven and possess a process improvement oriented mindset
